Two hundred species of birds have been recorded and there are large crocodiles that inhabit the Maya-made water reservoir at the near by Altun Ha Mayan Ruins (just 2 mins Drive,3 mins bicycle & 10 mins walking) which is famed for the largest Jade find (Jade Head) in the Maya World.

Being situated in the epicenter of hardwoods   Belize Rural North,craftsmanship shows in the wood carvings made in this area.
